[It’s the Night of The Eve of St. Brigid’s Day. Traditionally A strip of cloth called “brat Bhride” (Brigid’s mantle) is hung outside the door. A loaf of oat bread baked in the shape of a cross and a sheaf of straw are left on the windowsill. Tonight, Brigid travels through the land with her red-eared cow bestowing blessings on those who remember. ]

ASH WEDNESDAY & THE BEGINNING of OUR LENTEN JOURNEY is WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18th

ANNUAL MEETING SUNDAY, JANUARY 25th - ONE SERVICE, beginning at 9:15 AM

+++ As Annual Reports are being received, they are being posted on the St. Matthew’s Website (www.stmatthewschurch.org) & in the Parish Hall.

*The Vestry is proposing a 2015 Budget of $319,387, to be prayerfully considered & voted upon at the Annual Meeting. Copies are posted in the Parish Hall.

+++ During the Annual Meeting we will be calling 3 new people to serve on the Vestry, 2 delegates to the Spring Interior Deanery Meeting, 3 delegates to the October Diocesan Convention, and 2 to serve on the St. Matthew’s Endowment Board. Nominations, with the consent of the Nominee, will be accepted from the floor. Nominations received as of JANUARY 20th are as follows: For the VESTRY (3 to be elected): Marlene Black, Cheryl Cadzow, Lorraine David. Tom Marsh; For the October Diocesan Convention (3 to be elected, plus Alternates): Val Adams, Caroline Bante, Laura Bender, Jim Hameister, Marty Thomas; For the Spring Deanery Meeting (2 to be elected, plus Alternates): Marty Thomas.

 MANY wonderful & NEAT things are planned in Sunday School (like a Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration) over the next several weeks. SIGN UP in the Parish Hall to Help!
